Samarium Cobalt Motor Magnets
Rare Earth magnets (Samarium Cobalt and Neodymium), or Ferrite (Ceramic) magnets can be used in magnetic motor and vehicle magnet applications. Rare Earth magnets are typically two to three times stronger than ferrite or ceramic permanent magnets. In electric motors, that results in greater performance from smaller, lighter motors. However, rare earth magnets are also more expensive than ferrite (ceramic) options.

Features of Samarium Cobalt permanent magnet
Samarium Cobalt rare earth magnets are extremely strong and they require a huge magnetizing field. Huge magnetizing fields require special equipment and aren't generally magnetized by customers. The anisotropic nature of sintered Sm Co magnets results in a single direction of magnetization. This direction must be observed when magnetizing and when integrating the magnet into the final assembly. Often times an indicator is used to identify a specific magnetic pole for the customer’s assembly process. This indicator can be a laser engraved mark or simple paint dot.
SmCo magnet is widely used in aerospace, defense industry, microwave devices, communications, medical equipment, instruments, wind power, a variety of magnetic drives, sensors, magnetic processors, high-end motors, etc.
