Details of Alnico Deep Pot Magnets (Zinc Plated)


The Alnico deep pot magnet is a deep pot magnet ideal for use in the highest temperature applications. The zinc plated mild steel body combined with the alnico’s natural good corrosion resistance provides the alnico deep pot magnet with good overall corrosion resistance and excellent magnetic performance with most oils.


The design includes a brass spacer between the zinc plated mild steel and the Alnico 5 magnet to retain the alnico magnet in position. The pole face, where the clamping occurs, is ground to a smooth finish. The rear of the alnico deep pot magnet is blind ended (no thread or tapped hole).


Our pot magnets play an essential role in numerous applications. These magnets can be very useful in extreme cold conditions (In theory towards absolute zero) and play equally productive role during extreme heat as well.

The internal threaded mounting pot magnet is a pot magnet that has a threaded hole in the centre of the ferromagnetic mild steel cup and a solid disc magnet inserted inside the cup. The threaded section does not go all the way through the pot magnet - it is only within the mild steel cup section.

AlNiCo magnets have a high remanence, but a fairly low coercivity. This means the AlNiCo magnetic material has a high flux density which, however, is only hardly present in the magnet and can easily be weakened by demagnetising influences. For this reasons AINiCo rod magnets should not be stored or used with equal poles opposing each other (repelling).
